Reading Tips and Strategies
"You Gotta Read, Baby, Read!"
Read to your sweet babies! Talk to them like they are adults...don't "GA-GA-GOO-GOO" them to boredom!
Here's why...
Reading together with babies increases the chances that it will become a beautiful and vital routine and bonding experience as they grow older. Beginning early is important because the roots of language are developing in babies brain even before they can talk!
Use different voices when you read to them. Sing, clap, and dance. Make reading time so fun that they are begging you to read to them every single day. YOU are your babies first teacher and you are fully capable of starting your babies educational journey with fun, love, and meaning.
"Reading for just 20 minutes every night, will make everything ALRIGHT!"

This simple act will take lots of discipline, but it is worth it:
READ WITH YOUR CHILD EVERY NIGHT FOR 20 MINUTES!
Here's why...

When reading, ask your child comprehension questions, make predictions before going to the next page, change the ending of books to something silly, use different voices for characters, read under the table, make a reading fort in the garage or on the trampoline...the possibilities are ENDLESS!
Make reading a fun habit for your little one and watch them fall in love with literature!
"Take a FIELD TRIP to the Library!"
Libraries are a vital part of our communities as they are the gateways to knowledge and culture. The resources and services they offer create opportunities for learning, and they fully support literacy and education. Libraries are a safe haven for children, providing them with a disciplined place to study, free internet, and free books that cover all interests.
Take your child on a FIELD TRIP to the library, let them explore the shelves, and learn about the types of books that interest them. And hey, while you're there, get a few books for yourself! :)
